The Harris Family

Update:  She did not make it.  Please pray for peace for this family as they face life without their wife, mom, daughter, friend. 
Pray that their daughter makes it with little to no complications of being born early. 



This family is on my mind a lot today. We found out yesterday that while on their trip to Georgia to see family, the mom of this family of (now) six (eight counting mom and dad), had to be rushed to the hospital.


She was not due until the end of January, that's 2 1/2 months away. She had severe swelling, and what they discovered is that she was hemorrhaging. They had to deliver the baby, and do a hysterectomy on mom.

Since then, mom has had to fight for her life, dying several times, always to come back.

Now, baby is doing good, I'm sure as good as a preemie can be. She weighs 2 lbs 12 oz. and is 13" long (can you say LONG, when saying 13" for a baby?)

Mom, on the other hand, is on kidney dialysis, and has very little brain function. she IS breathing on her own though. (when they first arrived at the hospital they were told there were only 4 machines in the hospital, all being used. Dad said he dropped to his knees and prayed, cried.out ...that they would have one available soon for his wife, who without it would have not made it this far. Not long after, there was one available and brought to his wife!)

Mom is only 34 years old....she has FIVE children waiting for her to come home, ages 14- to new born. She has a sweet husband that needs his wife, he needs the mom to their children to help raise them.

He said he is waiting to hold the baby until he does it with his wife.

Please, pray for this family. I know it will take a miracle for her to make it through this, and with no complications, but GOD can do this.

Dad will be coming back to Louisiana to bring the kids back to go back to school next week. Can you imagine leaving your wife and premature infant daughter in another state, or leaving your children who are no doubt scared that they will lose their mom and baby sister in the blink of an eye.

Sorry about such a sad post. At Thanksgiving time, this reminds us to be grateful for what we have, our families, our health.
