Doctor, doctor, give me the news.....

MIGRAINES!
He is pretty sure this is what Trevor is having.
Cluster Migraines.
For now, we are going to try a short term run of a beta-blocker. The goal is to have him go a month without ANY headaches, then we will try weaning off of them. If it works, GREAT. If not, we will try it for a little longer and hope that it breaks the cycle.
Beta blockers: (sometimes written as β-blocker) are a class of drugs used for various indications, but particularly for the management of cardiac arrhythmias, cardioprotection after myocardial infarction (heart attack), and hypertension. Propranolol was the first clinically useful beta adrenergic receptor antagonist. Invented by Sir James W. Black, it revolutionized the medical management of angina pectoris and is considered to be one of the most important contributions to clinical medicine and pharmacology of the 20th century.[1] Beta blockers may also be referred to as beta-adrenergic blocking agents, beta-adrenergic antagonists, or beta antagonists.

AND, they also help with migraines. I was on them for a short time after having Drew, and again at the beginning of the year because my blood pressure was crazy high, probably being caused by migraines (they had become an everyday occurance). after a month, i was able to stop and the mirgraines have gone back to my normal 3-4 a month, which I can handle!!

I pray this does the trick. As a sufferer of migraines, I know the feeling of them and feel terrible that my child (or anyone else for that matter) has to suffer like that!!

whew. ok migraines, yes they suck but can be dealt with! praying that everything will be ok and the beta blockers help!!

sometimes too just as kids grow into things....they will grow out of them. this might be a "side effect" of hitting those pre-teen years and the body changing.
