He had fever, throwing up, wouldn't eat or drink and hadn't had a wet diaper in 24 hours.
He was put in the hospital. immediately. He looked pitiful, he felt bad...he had HIGH, HIGH fever (105+).
shortly after getting there. he went to sleep. a restless, fidgety sleep. he slept for THREE and a HALF DAYS! he would whine while having his diapers changed, but he slept and slept.
They had no clue what was wrong. He showed a heart murmor, which we never knew about (it has since been checked SEVERAL times and is closed! it showed up due to the very high fever while sick. we have 1 more check up (EKG) in September to make sure it wasn't Kawasaki Disease which can cause heart problems that sometimes don't show up untill a year later).
Several Doctors came in looking at him, asking LOTS of questions, discussing between each other what they think it could be.....
They ruled everything out, he had already been pumped with antibiotics JUST INCASE it was some bacteria....
and he woke up!
I was so happy to see him fussing for something he couldn't have!!
He was 10 months old when this happened and it took him almost a month to get the strength to start walking again!
Sadly, at the same time, we lost our Boudreaux (BooBoo). he was old, had been having troubles, and was at the Vet's office at the time. RIP Boudreaux!
