My mom didn't have RK eye surgery. It is called PRK, photorefractive keratectomy.
they take out the cornea and sculpt it! OUCH!
She is in quite a bit of pain. Apparently this is not as quick of a recovery as Lasik.
She has 20/25 vision though! That's going to be WONDERFUL for her!
She had one eye done to see close, and the other to see far because her eyes are SO bad, that's the way she wore her contacts also. they couldn't do both eyes to see both ways. She wore her contacts that way for the last 10 years, so they did the mono. Some Dr's won't do it because if you aren't used to seeing that way, it can make you feel drunk/dizzy and once the surgery is done, it's too late to change it!
