moving forward in our kitchen.....

When we moved in, everything in the kitchen was DARK.....paneling on the dining room walls, dark colored doors, we painted and changed everything WHITE....i wanted it to be BRIGHT! I'm not crazy about stainless and i had a new fridge that was white and wasn't planning on buying a new one just to match other appliances. When we had to replace the dishwasher, we went with white. We figured we would slowly change out what we wanted to do...

today, we ordered our oven, a new, white, wider, DOUBLE oven to replace the OLD, black, narrow, oven/microwave combo that is original to the house!

We ALSO ordered a new, white, 5 burner cooktop to replace the jen-air thing that is ALSO original to the house. Actually the cooktop isn't so bad. my problem is i HATE that the air comes on automatically when you turn the left side on because it came with a grill for that side. we have an extra plate that goes on that side so we have 2 burners instead. It's like using 2 burners all the time and that doesn't always work!

Since we are doing away with the microwave/oven combo, we had to also get a new microwave. we will have to have the cabinet above the cooktop raised because our cabinets are already low, and it doesn't leave enough clearance from the bottom of the microwave to the cooktop.

everything will be in next week, but the guy we have putting it all in (everything is bigger so, he will have to cut out bigger spots for everything) can't come until the first week of june. They only deliver on Wed. and Fri., so if they deliver on 6/3, we will have C come put the appliances in on 6/4! i cannot wait!!

we put aside Tax money to get things done in the kitchen but we waited until there was a sale. Not only were the appliances 10% off, they had free shipping and rebates!!

we will also be getting a new light! i HATE the big long florescent thing that is there now!

our next projects will be countertops, backsplash, and countertops! I know what colors i want to use, i just have to figure out what the best stone to use and pattern that i want!
